Oh Wonbin Quits FT Island!

So the rumor we heard was true! It’s been confirmed that FT Island’s guitarist and sub-vocalist, Oh Won Bin will be leaving the team. The company explained on the 28th that even though Wonbin is leaving, the group will not remain as a 4 member team and that the search for a new member in progress. FT Island is still planning on releasing a mini album sometime in February with this new member.

According to the company, Wonbin had come to this hard decision after thinking about it for quite some time. The other members have stated that “it is sad to see him go and that we hope to be able to grow through this rough transition.” 

What a huge loss for the team and for the kpop scene. Seeing as how FT Island was one of the few idol groups with talent, I don’t know how they’ll fill up his spot. I just hope they actually get someone with the skills and the talent to carry on the FT Island name. After all, we wouldn’t want FT Island to become some idol group that just uses their face to get famous.

Kangin, lee yoonji the new couples in we got married

Kangin, Jun Jin and Lee Yoonji cast in “We’re Married”

Kang In (23) and older woman Lee Yoon-ji (24) will be pairing up as newlyweds on the TV show, “We’re married.” The couple will take on the role of campus couple (university) and have their wedding on December 17^th.

There is some concern over the fact that an idol group member (Kangin from Super Junior) is cast. However, since Super Junior didn’t make much of a ripple this year, the rabid fans are probably laying low as well. Let’s hope so for Lee Yoon-ji’s sake.

Also, a couple to replace Suh In-young and Crown J is set to be Jun Jin and a mystery woman. Producers are still searching for the “perfect” (and compatible) woman for the Shinhwa member. Once a decision is made, taping will begin right away at the end of December.

Boys Before Flowers coming soon

 

I know many of you are waiting for this. Finally, the Korean F4 or Boys Before Flowers drama will be airing soon. The good news is that it will be on KBS 2TV. This means, Malaysians get to watch it on KBS World, Channel 303 Astro soon.Are you excited?

Boys Before Flowers will take over Worlds Within in South Korea on the KBS 2TV, Mondays & Tuesdays at 9:55pm slot.

This highly anticipated drama starts airing January 5th, 2009 in Korea.

paran concert in malaysia had been canceled..

Paran’s Malaysia concert cancelled

The deal between Paran’s managing company NH Media and local organisers, Pop Rainbow fell through, folks. This means Paran’s Nov 30 concert in Malaysia has been cancelled.

What’s that you’re feeling? Yes, fellow Malaysians, that’s called deja vu.

After this year’s FT Island concert fiasco, we have another K-pop act cancellation – although not as dramatic.

Bad news for Malaysian K-pop fans, huh? The reason given by NH Media is that the local organisers were not professional enough in organising the event.

In a press statement, NH Media wrote: “The organiers have failed to pay the deposit of the concert and they also did not sign the contract document we provided them so the contract has become void.”

Bottom line, Paran’s managing team ain’t happy with the local organisers. Thus no Paran, no U-Kiss.

No show, too: U-Kiss, who are the guest performers for Paran’s concert,
would not be coming too.

Is this a wake-up call for local organisers to buck up?

Concerts in Thailand and Vietnam usually go on without such a dramatic turn of events, so why did the two K-pop concerts in Malaysia fail to take off?

Will Malaysia ever get another K-pop act to stage a show?

in the medical drama General Hospital 2.

It’s a medical drama on MBC, folks, so this means we Malaysians won’t be getting it on the telly.

Ryu-jin (Really, Really Like You) plays Baek Hyun-woo, a first-year resident in General Hospital 2.

He is joined by talents Kim Jung-eun (portraying Jung Ha-yoon) and Cha Tae-hyun (playing Choi Jin-sang).

Heartless?: Is Baek Hyun-woo a doctor who needs to
improve on his bedside manner?

Baek Hyun-woo is a doctor who seems to lack compassion, but he gradually warms up to Ha-yoon, a law school graduate with an ulterior motive.

General Hospital 2 has been airing in South Korea since Nov 19.

It’s Splitsville for celebrity couple Lee Seo-jin (Yi San) and Kim Jung-eun (General Hospital 2).

At the end of October, the 33-year-old actress received a call from Lee (35) who informed her that they are through.

According to the heartbroken actress, there wasn’t so much as a hint of a problem in the relationship before the breakup.

The couple have been together since 2006 as they met while filming the drama Lovers.

Paran in Malaysia on Nov 30

A warm thank you to the K-popped! readers who alerted us on this .

Yup, all you Paran fans, the quintet is making their way to our humble shores!

The Nov 30 concert will be held at the Sunway Amphitheatre (yup, the same venue for FT Island’s (cancelled) concert).

Let’s hope that this time around, K-popped! Malaysians will not be fleeced. One bad incident at the start of the year is already more than enough. Whatever happens, I hope the show goes on.
